Preparation before becoming freshmen

After finishing one of the most important tests, it's time for students who have just returned from a lengthy break to be prepared for the next leg of their learning path in a completely different environment. Here are some tips for young people in order to avoid feeling lost throughout their first year of college.

1. Investigating the university that you will study

It is said that school was the second home, and the university is not an exception. Moreover, it is where you will get along for 4 years which is one of the most crucial milestones in even far future. Therefore, before putting any university’s name up on the first demand, make sure that you spend enough time getting information on that one such as its tradition, teaching program, curriculum, infrastructure, and other requirements.

In the technological era, young students can easily update information about their dream university. In some ways, the most convenient is to access online platforms such as websites, fan pages on Facebook, group, and so on. Besides, you also can ask some seniors who used to  study and are studying there to get the most visible perspectives. Then, just actively make your own decision.

2. Prepare the necessary procedure adequately

This is one of the most vital steps in the preparation for your first experience in university, but most students ignore it and think that they can handle it later when coming to the deadline. Even though you passed the entrance exam and got an eligible score, you still could be rejected if you did not submit enough admission procedures and documents. Some pieces of paper you need to prepare are a medical examination certificate, certificate of study results, academic records, and related documents.

3. Finding the accommodation

For those who live near their studying university, this is not matter. However, other students who live far from their ‘second home’ definitely have to notice in order to prepare carefully.

One of the best options for most students is to live in their own university dormitory due to a range of benefits such as low cost, geographical location, or safety. But, dormitory also has some shortcomings that make students’ life inconvenient like time limit and internal conflicts.

On the other hand, those who overrate privacy and love freedom, can prefer living in the hostels and accept the higher cost. Most students tend to cohabit to reduce the fee by sharing money with roommates. Then they can enjoy their own space, come back home whenever they want, or just simply use their own toilet without fighting with hundred people each morning.

4. Buying the learning equipment

The final step for today is to prepare the learning devices, which play an indispensable role during your learning process. You can not complete your assignments or your deadline without a laptop because most learning activities recently would be completed through the online platform. Therefore, each student is required to have at least one device to ensure their learning program is not interrupted.
